does anybody else freak out about the fact that we exchange goods and services for pieces of paper with numbers on them that have no value except what we as human beings assign them
no because the people in power have absolutely no incentive to abandon our monetary system
relax about that and instead try freaking out about how your entire body is made up of interacting molecules and WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY ALL STOPPED INTERACTING I MEAN WOULD YOU JUST DISPERSE?????
I was reading The Science of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy yesterday and it was basically like “Well, there’s no god, but it’s very likely that we’re actually in some sort of AI game like the Sims! Also it is totally within the laws of physics that your molecules could just stop! Or that you could go to sleep one night and wake up on Pluto. Except you wouldn’t wake up because you’d be dead. Haha, physics! Also there’s no such thing as free will.”
So anyway I guess what I’m saying is yes, this.
I’m more concerned about how we exchange emotions with nothing but signs and symbols that have no meaning except that which we as a society arbitrarily assign to them. :( Like, seriously, dude, my emotions are more precious than that and you really can’t understand if our interpretation of the signs and symbols differs!!!
